The gist of the Complaint: Translated from Marathi to English on best effort basis.
The Complainant, aged 28, resides at the abovementioned address in Kandivali East with his brother and parents. At present, the complainant’s family’s livelihood depends on him and his brother. He works as a freelance Photographer and his brother (Mr. Vikrant) is employed in a private firm.
The Complainant has two-wheelers (Honda Activa 6G bearing the registration number MH-47 BE-2787) for daily commutes. The said vehicle was Registered in the name of his cousin Mr. Vinay Jaywant Patil. The Complainant has been in possession of the said vehicle for his personal use in accordance with their mutual understanding.
The Complainant and other residents generally park their vehicles at Vishwa shanti Buddha Vihar, Ayyappa Mandir Road, Hanuman Nagar, Kandivali East, Mumbai.
On 6th January 2023, at 11.45 PM, the complainant parked his vehicle at the abovementioned usual parking place and went to his home. At 4:30 AM in the morning, some residents woke him up, and that’s when he realized that local residents are shouting and saw that they are attempting to put out the fire that broke out in vehicles parked at the location described above.
After some time, Fire Brigade Van as well as police arrived at the scene. The Fire Brigade staff extinguished the fire but by that time several vehicles including the complainant’s vehicle were completely destroyed by the raging fire.
After such incident in the early morning, since the complainant had to attend to a client, he left the scene afterward. After returning from the work, the complainant made an inquiry with locals but no one had any clue about the cause of the incident.
The complainant suspected that the fire is not out of any accidental activity (force majeure) but the vehicles were burned down by unknown miscreants, he decided to lodge an FIR against the Unknown miscreant(s).
