The gist of the Complaint: Translated from Marathi to English on best effort basis.

The Complainant (Sepoy 090601/ Pawar), aged 34 years, resides at the abovementioned address since 4 yrs with his family. The Complainant is working as constable in Greater Mumbai Police since the year 2010 and presently stationed at Samta Nagar, Kandivali Police station for general duty. On 24th January 2023, for rendering night shift duty, the complainant arrived in police station at 8:00 pm and left for rendering duty as beat marshal at 8:30PM to patrol the streets in appointed area No-1. In the stated beat patrolling, he was Joined by P.S.I. Suhas Satav, and Sepoy id 130551/Waghat.  

P.S.I Suhas Satav was informed through an undercover informant that one person at Priya Chinese Centre, Bihari Tekdi Road, Poisar Kandivali East, Mumbai was selling liquor in his possession without license. P.S.I Suhas Satav asked the complainant to bring two judges to verify . if the news found correct. Accordingly, the complainant brought two Panchas (Witnesses).

P.S.I Suhas Satav briefly explained Panchas (Witnesses), the purpose and intent of the action and requested them to work as a Panch (Witness), they agreed for the same. After that when the police team and Panch came to the said place at 9.00pm near Priya Chinese Centre, Bihari Tekdi Road, Poisar Kandivali East, the accused was seen taking out bottles from a white cloth bag in his hand and selling them to the people coming to him. Accordingly, the accused was besieged and captured. P.S.I Satav inquired about his name, address and what he was doing at the said place, he gave the abovementioned details, then the accused was asked by PSI Satav “what is he doing there?, the accused started giving vague answers. Therefore, the squad searched him in front of the Panchas, a white colored bag in his hand contained 15 sealed bottles of liquor, each having a label as “GM Breweries Ltd , 90 ml Deshi Daru Santra, MRP Rs.35”, so all stock was worth Rs.525 in total  

For sampling, one bottle of both descriptions were sealed and collected in the presence of Panchas and were sent for analysis and report. Rest of the bottles were sealed one box. Accused was asked about his business, whereabouts, permits if any, to which accused did not replied anything.

Accordingly he was taken in custody, In view of the above it was suspected that accused was in possession of illicit liquor and thus liable for punishment. Police Registered the case and took up the investigation The case is being investigated by the Police officer namely Mr. Suhas Satav. The Complainant’s statement was recorded in Marathi and it was explained to him in Marathi  and he confirmed the same.
