The gist of the Complaint: Translated from Marathi to English on best effort basis.
The Complainant aged 34 years, resides at the abovementioned address in Mumbai Central with his family. The Complainant is working as a constable in Greater Mumbai Police since the year 2013 and is presently stationed at KANDIVALI Police station for general duty. On 8th January 2023, for rendering night shift duty, the complainant arrived at the police station at 8:00 Pm and left for rendering duty as a beat marshal to patrol the streets in appointed area No-3.
In the stated beat patrolling, the Complainant was Joined by PSI Ravsaheb Shinde, and Maharashtra Police Department Batch id 140202/Bavdhane & 112349/Shinde.
The senior Police Inspector of Samata Nagar has directed patrolling staff to stop the menace of illicit liquor sales in the area. Accordingly, all the staff went patrolling in the jurisdictional circle area -03. While carrying out patrolling, at about 8:30 PM Informer gave a tip about illicit liquor sales to PSI Ravsaheb Shinde. It was informed that the illicit liquor is being sold beside Sona Chinese, Wadarpada Road no-2 , KANDIVALI East, Mumbai.
PSI Ravsaheb Shinde asked the complainant to call two panch as witnesses to collect samples, if any were found, at the said place. After the arrival of the Panchas (Witnesses), aforesaid Patrolling police staff reached the Sona Chinese, it was found that the Accused is selling something in bottles kept in his white carry bag to the people visiting him. The Accused can be described as Young, Slim, wheatish, height approx. 5.5 ft, aged between 20-25 years, wearing pants & T-shirt. After surveillance of the activities, patrolling staff cornered the accused, which apparently made him nervous. PSI Ravsaheb Shinde enquired with the accused about his whereabouts and activity going on, to which the accused answers were found unsatisfactory.
The accused was accordingly taken for inquiry, on the inspection of material possessed in the bottles carried by the accused, it was found that 6 bottles contained white liquid having a strong pungent smell and had a label as “90ML Deshi Daru Santra Rs.35” and 3 bottles named as LONDON PILSNER 650ML Rs.140. For sampling, one bottle of both descriptions was sealed, drawn, and collected in the presence of panchas and was sent for analysis and report. The rest of the bottles were sealed in one box. Accused was asked about his business, whereabouts, and permits if any, against which the accused produced only an Aadhar card bearing No-348430686627 and stated his Name as Pawan Kumar Bale Turia, having present address as Sona Chinese corner.
Accordingly, he was taken into custody, and cash Rs.210/- in his possession was confiscated.
In view of the above, it was suspected that the accused was in possession of illicit liquor and thus liable for punishment. Police Registered the case and took up the investigation The case is being investigated by the Police officer namely Mr. Pravin Rane
